Looking, and feeling, your best is important. You have more confidence, and your outlook is improved. When you look good, you feel good, and there are many ways to improve your appearance.

Did you know that what you put into your body has an impact on how it looks on the outside? It’s true: a healthy diet helps you feel fit, and it also makes you look better. Eating natural foods, and drinking plenty of water, will help your skin glow and your body be slim and trim. Make sure you’re getting all the food groups in your daily diet, with an emphasis on fruits and vegetables. Also include plenty of dairy in your diet, which will meet your calcium needs; strong bones will help you stand up tall. Drinking at least 6 glasses of water each day will help you have a clear complexion.

Take care of your skin, hair, teeth and fingernails, because these are parts of your body people notice. If your skin is acne-prone, try medicated facial cleansers and oil-free moisturizers to help clear it up. Dry skin benefits from gentle cleansers and moisturizers. Makeup can enhance your natural beauty, but use it sparingly: raccoon eyes with a clown mouth is not the look you’re going for. Brush and floss your teeth at least twice a day and have regular professional cleanings, for a gorgeous, healthy smile. Keep your hair clean and neat, and get regular haircuts to keep it looking fresh and fashionable. Trim your nails to a reasonable length, and keep them clean; a professional manicure is not necessary if you have some practice working on your own nails.

You can dress yourself for a more beautiful look, as well. Consider your body type, and shop for clothing with that in mind. Not everyone can carry off the same look: you want your clothes to enhance your body and flatter it, which will make you look terrific. You’ll feel more confident when your clothes fit you well, and enhance the parts you like, while camouflaging the parts you don’t. If you need help finding the perfect fit or style for your own body type, ask for help from a salesperson in the store. Or take a “brutally honest” friend with you when you shop; let him or her give you the lowdown, and only buy what makes you look sensational, and leave the rest behind.
